Fritsch Elektronik is an established EMS service provider with a turnover of around €25 million and approximately 140 employees. Production planning was previously carried out in Excel and was heavily based on order priorities. Planning was carried out centrally and decentrally in parallel – with a high level of coordination effort and a noticeable dependence on individual persons. The main pain point was a lack of transparency regarding actual capacities, detailed processes, and the impact of current orders on deadlines, resources, and bottlenecks.

Why Fritsch chose PAILOT was clear from the outset: they weren't looking for an experimental AI solution, but rather a planning system that understands and can map the real complexity of electronics manufacturing. The focus was on realistic, capacity-based planning, a reliable overview of order status at all times, and the ability to respond flexibly to changes in day-to-day operations. The goal was to centralize planning without losing operational flexibility and, at the same time, to increase sales without having to deploy additional resources.

Within eight months, PAILOT was fully integrated into Fritsch Elektronik's production planning. Since then, planning has been centralized, AI-based, and cross-departmental. Production team leaders align themselves with the central plan, but retain the necessary flexibility during the day and at the same time take on more responsibility in their areas.

At the same time, data quality has improved significantly: PAILOT promotes structured processes and clean, cross-departmental data maintenance throughout the entire production process. Changes and disruptions can now be addressed quickly and effectively. Production plans can be adjusted at the touch of a button instead of being reworked in time-consuming coordination loops.
